• All Benders paperboard cup raw materials are sustainably resourced

• Our cup raw materials have PEFC, FSC or SFI accreditation

• 95% of all Factory waste is recycled

• Benders only use water based inks for printing and pioneered their use 15 years ago

• Benders are founding members of the industry "Cup Recycling Group" which has proven paper cups can be recycled into 2nd use products like Kitchen Towels and Toilet Rolls, we are working with our partners to provide cup collection and recycling for customers in conjunction with "Save-a-Cup"

• Benders use a 4th party logistics operator maximising backhaul utilisation of transport further reducing our Company environmental impact

• Our Regional based Sales team limits travel miles for Company Business

• We have a 100% sustainable cup range available (PLA products)

• "Bike to Work" scheme launched for Employees in the Summer of 2010

•  New Investments have allowed the "in house" production of Combi Packs and raw material reel slitting, thus eliminating the need for external transport journey's reducing the factory's Carbon Footprint

•  We are updating our Compressor Energy management system to minimise the energy consumption required for compressed air generation

• We have reprogrammed our Cup machines to minimise idle time energy consumption

• New Capital Projects are now assessed critically to minimise Energy use

Benders began as a traditional family business in 1899 selling a range of decorative stationery items. In 1903, when Edward VII was on the throne the company changed ownership for the princely sum of £50.
