As more and more vending operators introduce paper into the mix, leading paper cup company, Benders Paper Cups has announced that sales of paper cups to the vending industry have continued to grow impressively in the last 12 months, with some of its vending customers choosing to leave plastic behind altogether.
The company consolidated its position as number one supplier of paper vending cups to the UK market by introducing new manufacturing capacity earlier this year and has plans for further expansion in capacity, driven by the vending market’s increased appetite for all types of paper cups, an appetite that extends into all sectors that the industry serves.
Marketing manager for Benders, Adrian Pratt explains: “We are now seeing a steady stream of vending operators switching over from plastic to paper, led by the consumer seeking an enhanced quality coffee drinking experience. That quality extends beyond the ingredients to the cup that holds the beverage. Using a good quality paper cup raises the perception of the quality of the drink and enhances the overall experience.
“There are a number of channels within the vending sector where the use of paper cups is a key part of the service offering in meeting growing demand. Maximising the drink experience means that the vending operator can expect to see higher revenues and an enhanced drinking experience will keep bringing customers back to that vending machine.”
The use of paper cups also allows more versatility for print options and, with more and more vending operators and suppliers recognising the power of simple branding, this too can have an impact on sales going forward.
Adrian adds: ‘We have produced cups for over 30 years and our paper vending cups are manufactured to the highest quality. Now the paper cup manufacturing arm of the largest cup group in Europe, Benders’ range includes a full selection of paper cups including super insulated hot cups. The Milano insulated cup and single wall cups in both standard and bio-board formats are popular in the ‘to go’ sector.
Benders’ paper cups are manufactured in the UK using virgin paper board from PEFC certified sustainably managed forests. Every cup fully meets the requirements of the European Timber Regulations and can be traced back from our production facility to the certified forest where it began its journey.
