We lead the way in the design and manufacture of paper products for catering in the UK
History

History
Benders started as a traditional family business in 1899 selling a range of decorative stationery items. In 1903, when Edward VII was on the throne, the company changed ownership for the princely sum of £50.
This heralded a change in product range with the introduction of lace bands for the confectionery trade and white/gold tickets for the cotton trade in Manchester. The company staff numbered just four, however collectively they amassed a total of 150 years service with the firm.
In 1904 the company moved from its original manufacturing base in Haggerston to Islington and Harringay and began to manufacture doyley's. By 1920 Benders had become the world's largest manufacturer of handmade luxury Christmas crackers.
During the war years Benders was totally engaged in the manufacture of munitions and in particular 'radar chaff.' Growth was steady and by the 1960's Benders was one of the largest suppliers to the baking trade and already well on the way to becoming a major manufacturer and supplier to the catering industry.
In 1964 Benders introduced the first dispenser napkin to the UK Food service market. In 1980 Benders introduced the first of its ranges of paper cups.
Today, we supply caterers in the UK and Europe with an unrivalled range of paper napkins, cups, plates, table coverings, doyley's and cutlery.
Our customers are caterers of every size, from multinational groups to individual cafés, who benefit from the advantages that our broad market knowledge and continuity of service brings.
