AVS Choose Benders to Supply Paper Cups

Associated Vending Services (AVS) have just awarded Benders an exclusive 3
year contract to supply paper cups to their membership within the UK and Ireland.
AVS currently have 26 members, all of whom are independently owned professional vending businesses, providing professional services from 42 locations, all operating under the AVS national service umbrella.
AVS act as a buying consortium for their members and this is the first time that they
have awarded an elite contract for the supply of cups; historically Benders have shared
the volume with other suppliers. Going forwards all members will use Benders cups and associated products.
Benders Vending and Beverage Manager, Ian Keeffe said: "This is a fantastic win for Benders. For the first time AVS
have awarded an exclusive contract to ensure that Benders are their sole trading partner for the supply of cups. This
really reinforces their belief in our products and services and will cement our relationship with their members”.
Brian E Tustain, Chief Executive of AVS commented, “We are delighted to have chosen Benders as our supply partner for paper cups within the AVS membership. Their ability to deliver a range of quality products, coupled with a relatively low volume capability to produce quality printed cups is unique. The Wrexham production factory is centrally based for fast distribution around the UK. We shall watch our volumes grow as paper cups assume a more significant choice for vending operators in the future”.

Improved Warehouse Flexibilty

At Benders we recognise that our ability to exceed our customers’ expectations is essential to our success and over the past 12 months we have invested heavily in all areas of our organisation to ensure that we do that.
Our warehousing and distribution operation is a vital part of our business and has benefitted from a 12 month improvement plan which has resulted in 52 of our employees gaining professional qualifications in health and safety, first aid, risk assessment, warehousing and management.
In May, we also took delivery of a new fleet of forklift trucks which has given us greater reliability and flexibility. All our warehouse employees can drive the vehicles following an intensive vehicle safety and re-licensing programme.
Keith Sproston, Benders Warehouse Manager said: “We are perfectly placed to offer a tailor made service to our customers. Over the past year we have developed our people and the systems, controls and processes that support them. Picking and despatching a substantial number of cases of product a week is now almost a stroll in the park and the ability to consistently provide our customers with the right product when they want it is something we are very proud of”.

Benders Present New Concepts at Nivex South 2008
