Spring has Sprung for Benders!

It has been a long cold winter, in both the seasonal sense and in the state of the nation's economy. However, as spring coyly arrives there has been a run of activity for Benders Paper Cup Company with new staff joining the business and a raft of new investments coming on line.

Three dynamic months have now passed since Benders re-launched the business as Europe's largest dedicated paper cup manufacturer and we have already seen a number of exciting developments unfold.  For example, our investment in new technology and capacity continues as we focus on our key market strengths in print quality and short lead time printing.

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome Jurgen Strack and James Illingworth to the business as they join our budding sales team.  Both James and Jurgen bring a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to the team working to promote Benders position as a specialist supplier of bespoke hot paper cup solutions and a leader in the growing vending and branded markets.  We are also looking to announce a further two recruits to join our sales team and internally we are continuing to develop our customer service/internal sales team with four more new starters since the re-launch.

Benders is set to become a carbon neutral business by mid 2011!  Working closely with our suppliers we are finalising our PEFC/FSC Chain of Custody Accreditation for our raw materials.  Whilst we have been buying from accredited resources for many years this will mean that our actual procurement process is recognised, which is something that cannot be said for the low cost imports that flood our market.

As Benders continues to grow and consolidate its position in the market, challenging times will endeavour to rear a head as the impact of the weak pound is forcing up raw material prices.  As always, Benders will do everything in its power to limit the impact on product pricing but it is likely we will have to increase some prices later in the year.
