Our aim is to develop further apprenticeships in multi discipline areas. Our apprenticeships are nationally recognised qualifications that offer candidates the opportunity to combine theoretical learning and practical on-the-job training.

Engineering Manager

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager, reporting to the Operations Director, to join our manufacturing team in Wrexham. As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the management of planned, preventative maintenance whilst also ensuring that all Engineer shifts are organised and scheduled. The business is heavily focused on driving efficiency; this role will support that by leading the Engineering resource to drive operational performance. You will be there to support internal Project Management team with new machine installations and capex to improve capabilities and reduce downtime whilst managing and developing KPI’s.

 

This is a key role for developing and promoting a positive and proactive culture within the Engineering team to ensure consistently high delivery.

 

Key elements of the role will include;

  • Project Management of new machine installations to improve manufacturing performance
  • Further drive and development of a culture of continuous improvement using lean methodologies
  • Development of maintenance systems and procedures to improve equipment availability and reliability, as well as reduce changeover times and cost per unit.
  • Effectively managing engineering and maintenance budget
  • Developing and driving Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring legislative compliance and adherence to company policies

 

THE PERSON:

You will be a time served Engineer with ideally 5+ years at Engineering Management level in a FMCG environment.   You will be an experienced and motivational leader, with a strong sense of commercial acumen, utilising a hands on approach to inspire change across the business and will be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven track record in a management position within a FMCG manufacturing or similar environment
  • Ability to relay information and present progress results to stakeholders across the business
  • Ability to drive to influence in an environment filled with challenging cultural practices and stakeholders
  • Experience of LEAN manufacturing methodologies with proof of improvements

 

 

PACKAGE:

Cup & Napkin Machine Operator(s)

THE ROLE

We are currently looking for Cup & Napkin Operators to join our team to support our growing business. You will be operating a number of fast moving Cup and Napkin machines in your role and will be focused on the day to day running of a number of fast moving machines including undertaking tasks such as basic machine adjustments, lubrication of machinery and ensuring both housekeeping and quality standards are high whilst achieving production targets.

 

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor this role will involve working a three week (Monday to Friday) rotating pattern of:

  • Days (6am-2pm)
  • Nights (10pm-6am)
  • Afternoons (2pm-10pm)

 

The hourly rate for this role is £11.70 inclusive of shift premium.

 

We are looking for people with/who can demonstrate:

  • Previous Operator experience in a manufacturing environment (essential)
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Previous experience of using integrated business systems, e.g. SAP, IFS (desirable)
  • Good literacy & numeracy skills
  • Methodical with ability to pay attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Manual handling knowledge/training and experience
  • PC literate – e.g.: basic data inputting

MULTISKILLED ENGINEER (MECHANICAL BIAS)

 HOURLY RATE: £17.85ph 

 

THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Multiskilled Engineer (Mechnical Bias) to join our team working within a manufacturing environment on Gresford Industrial Estate. Your duties will include fault finding and repairing equipment, machine adjustments and preventative maintenance.

Reporting jointly to the Shift Supervisor & Engineering Team Leader this role with involve working a 4 on / 4 off rotating days/nights 12 hour shift pattern. The hourly rate for this role is £17.85 inclusive of shift premium.

 

We are looking for people who have/can demonstrate:

  • A recognised apprenticeship or equivalent
  • To be qualified to BTEC or equivalent NVQ in Mechanical engineering
  • To be computer literate or be prepared to train to a satisfactory level

MULTISKILLED CI ENGINEER (ELECTRICAL BIAS)

We are currently looking for a Multiskilled CI Engineer to join our team to support our growing business. You will assist and support the Plant Specialist in CI activities to improve operational productivity, including implementation of lean initiatives & root cause analysis of machine problems and productivity issues.

 

 

 

The working hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.30pm. The annual rate for this role is £35,500.

We are looking for people with/who can demonstrate:

  • A recognised apprenticeship with relevant qualifications to support is essential
  • Electrical bias with good factory knowledge and experience within a manufacturing environment is essential
  • Sound mechanical aptitude with hands on experience
  • Knowledge or appreciation of logic control such as PLCs or intelligent relays is essential
  • Experience of working with various PLC’s is desirable
  • Inverter and servo control of machine motion plus conventional motor control experience is desirable
  • 16th or 17th Edition regulations are desirable
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process improvement techniques is desirable
