  • Machine Operator- Print Department

    Salary: Competitive

    We are currently recruiting for a Machine Operator to work in the Print Department.The role will be responsible for assisting in printing and slitting product efficiently in line with customer and business expectations.

    We are currently recruiting for a Machine Operator to work in the Print Department working a 4 day/3 night weekly rotational shift pattern working 182 hours per month.  The role will be responsible for assisting in printing and slitting product efficiently in line with customer and business expectations. Training for the role will be provided.

     

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Pre-press plate handling, storage and mounting.
    • To operate the slitting/rewinding machine.
    • To operate the crush and cut core cutting machine.
    • To assist in ensuring all product is printed correctly and to a quality standard following customer artwork requests from pre-press through to a finished product.
    • To complete all necessary paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Ensure that housekeeping standards are achieved and maintained at all times.
    • To undertake basic preventative maintenance of presses – e.g.: plate condition.
    • Lifting and moving of pre-printed reels with the aid of mechanical lifting gear where required.
    • To print reel labels on a regular basis.
    • To dispense and apply inks to the press

     

      QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

     

    • Some technical knowledge of flexographic printing would be an advantage.
    • Previous machine operating experience in an FMCG environment is essential
    • Literacy & Numeracy skills
    • Methodical with ability to pay attention to detail
    • PC literate – e.g.: basic data inputting
    • Manual handling knowledge
